My Story
I transitioned into software engineering after years in leadership and operations roles, including mission-critical environments in the U.S. Air Force, and maintaining high-volume work environments in my position at the Discount Tire Company. That background shaped how I work: I value reliability, clear communication, and owning problems end-to-end.
I earned a Software Engineering Certificate from Noble Desktop, with training in HTML/CSS, Node/Express, MongoDB/Mongoose, React, Javascript, Python/Django, and API development.
Today, I build backend services and full-stack projects using Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and Python/Django — with an emphasis on clean architecture, readable code, and practical solutions.
What I’m Focused On
Backend Engineering
- Designing and building REST APIs
- CRUD workflows, validation, and error handling
- Data modeling with MongoDB/Mongoose
- Maintainable structure (MVC fundamentals)
Quality & Reliability
- Clear naming, consistent patterns, and readable code
- Testing APIs with Postman and verifying edge cases
- Documentation that helps future-me and future-teammates
Collaboration
- Communicating trade-offs and asking good questions
- Breaking work into small, shippable steps
- Working in Git/GitHub workflows
What I’m Looking For
I’m looking for a backend-focused role where I can contribute to reliable services, learn from strong engineers, and grow into owning larger systems over time.
- Backend / API development (Node/Express or Python/Django)
- Teams that value clean architecture and code quality
- Opportunities to learn, ship, and iterate
